Nihari is a dish of patience. Cuts of halal beef are simmered low and slow with a masala built on fennel, dried ginger, black cardamom, bay and long pepper until the meat gives way at the touch of a spoon and the connective tissue melts into the gravy.
That long cook is what gives nihari its glossy body and its unmistakable depth — a warmth that builds slowly rather than hitting up front. We serve it topped with julienned ginger, sliced green chilli and coriander, with lemon on the side to cut through the richness.
There is no fast version of nihari. Ours goes on in the evening and cooks through the night, which is the only way to get the meat that tender and the gravy that rich. When it runs out for the day, it runs out.

Nihari is a slow-cooked Pakistani beef stew in a rich, deeply spiced gravy. Traditionally a breakfast dish, it is now enjoyed any time — usually with naan or roti.
It runs medium to hot with a warmth that builds gradually. The ginger, green chilli and lemon served on top let you dial the intensity up or down yourself.
Yes, subject to availability. We serve 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM Monday and Wednesday through Saturday, and Sundays 12:00 PM to 11:00 PM. Closed Tuesdays.
